Elderly Disability Advisor |
Disability is a physical state that deprives an individual of normal
working capacity and puts certain restrictions on the course of life.
Elderly (or senior) disability is a term which refers to health
deterioration occurring with the fact of an individual's
growing older. As a rule, aging is connected with disease
manifestation that may lead to the definite degree of disablement.
Elderly disability includes three categories: sensory, physical and
mental disorders. Each of these disorders might be inflicted by a
chronic illness or turn out to be a complication consequence of an
acute form of a recently acquired disease. The citizens, who have not
reached the age of 65 but acquired symptoms of disablement, have the
right to apply for elderly disability benefits to support and provide
for living. If a person is physically incapable of obtaining the
benefits, an agent (e.g. a relative or any other empowered person) is
appointed by law. Agents assume the responsibility to exercise
supervision over patients, maintain their lifestyle and provide all
necessary disability care. The modern world has produced a lot of
different technical devices helping disabled people cope with everyday
duties more successfully: electric
multifunctional wheelchairs,
videophones, more sensitive hearing aid devices, special computer
devices and software and other important items.
Elderly people are recommended to keep to certain strategy in order to
postpone or to avoid the perspective of senior disability. Individuals
are advised to go through complete health inspection on the regular
basis; to keep to food diet; to determine active way of life etc. |
